Description:   The soil color is light brownish yellow. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is poorly sorted. It is silty clay.
Notes:   We began to excavate 806 in an attempt to bring the elevation of the east side of the trench down a bit and to understand the relationship of pier 573 to the robbing trench and the former e-w wall. 806 is a soft, yellowish fill immediately east of the pier.
806 came down on another possible pier in the eastern extent of the context. This pier is made up of large white stones and is similar in construction to 573. In the north east corner, this pier is made up of three courses, including what appears to be a small column in the bottom course.
Inclusions in this fill are reltaively few, but the pottery pulled out consists of very large pieces. There are few rocks.
806 comes down on a hard-packed black soil that Thanasis called a floor surface. He thinks that this floor was cut by the installation of pier 573.
