Description:   The soil color is light reddish brown. The soil compaction is loose. The soil is poorly sorted. It is clayey silt.
Notes:   This is a small patch of ''black'' soil at the E edge of the triangle last excavated as 836. It runs directly above the ''wall'' (=866), discovered in 849, which will be assigned a context number momentarily. It is pretty clearly a wall, now, after excavation of pit 856 (C867) which cut the wall - the N continuation of the wall can be seen in the scarp of the pit. This small patch of black soil sits inside of (E of) a very clear, vertical cut in the red triangle last excavated as 836 above the pit. It may be identical to 859. At any rate, it was probably cut by 856/C867 when C867 cut wall 866. Wall 866 is more clearly visible still after the removal of the present context. It does not appear to be built with cement. For more information see structure sheet 866.
