Stratum: | Silty Sand, 20% inclusions, many medium pebbles with coarse pebbles included and a few fine pebbles, along with a few sherds.
Description: | Top slope of the context is slight down to the N. Bottom slope of the context is slight down to the NThe soil color is dark yellowish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is moderately sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes: | The workmen (Kleomenes in particular) began clearing the south-westernmost tree pit in the excavation area. I followed the soil guide in the handbook and determined that the soil in the pit was sandy silt. This would indicate that the pit did not contain clay like the fill of the NW tree pit (B6) was, if my reading of the soil is accurate. Kleomenes found a plastic wire in the pit after removing the tree (perhaps from the now-decomposed bag that once held the sapling?).
