Description:   Top slope of the context is steep down to the E. The soil color is dark yellowish brown. The soil compaction is loose. The soil is very poorly sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes:   This context consists of dark yellowish brown soil and has many inclusions, which are pieces of tile, coarse wares, small ceramic sherds, glass, bone, one lead piece, marine shells, and one piece of charcoal. A part of a knee (?) of an almost lifesize marble sculpture was found in the upper part of the context.
(8/4/2013): After an examination in the museum, however, we concluded that it is not a worked piece of stone (8/4/2013).
Later note (9/4/2013): We began digging this context because we believed it was one of the latest levels currently in our area and to explore the fill into which C871 was cut. It was a relatively small context and we changed to a new context when we reached the harder, more compact layer below.

Two bulbous knops separated by horizontal trailed line; lower one is larger and more spherical. Central hole; blister ware, spout, 1 (saved to lot); glass clear, bs 3, rim, 1; charcoal, 1; glass clear with cobalt blue trail, bs, 1, L. 0.028, H. 0.022, Th. Of blue trail 0.006, Probably a beaker. Straight vertical body (perpendicular to the trail) and curved horizontally (along line of the trail). Cf.; lead, mending strip, 1
