Description:   Top slope of the context is level down to the E. The soil color is dark yellowish brown. The soil compaction is compact. The soil is very poorly sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes:   This context consists of a single layer of flat tiles laid horizontally. It is located beneath wall 540 and context 974. We excavated it in order to proceed with the removal of the physical boundary between blue and pink areas. The boundary consistes of a pedestaled area under wall 540 and we are hoping to clarify stratigraphic relationship between areas on each side.
The context consisted of one layer of flat tiles approx. 2-3cm thick, laid out horizontally. The soil was dark yellowish brown and firm. Since there was not too much soil, we decided to sift 100% of context in hope of finding an artifact to help us date the level. However, we only found a couple of iron nails.
The layer underneath is of same consistency, only little more reddish and does not contain tile. This layer might relate to tile context excavated in 2012, but we will have to check previous year's records to confirm it.
