Stratum:   Inclusions of charcoal, bone, glass, and some marble; but less than corresponding northern foundation trench
Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is light yellowish brown. The soil compaction is compact. The soil is poorly sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes:   We open this context to excavate the foundationt rench of the southern portion of the Late Wall at the eastern end of Room 4. The soil is initially a yellowish brown silty sand but becomes more pink as the depth increases and bedrock / redeposited bedrock fill is scraped. There are charcoal, bone, and glass inclusions, but not nearly as much marble as was in the northern trench (see Context 369). In addition, this trench becomes narrower as the depth increases and is not stepped as the northern section was, instead having more of an incline. In places, at the bottom of the trench there is a gap of 0.10-12 m between the wall and the fill to the west, but in other places the adjacent fill extends almost to the wall.
This foundation trench is also not as deep as the northern one, which (based on closing elevations) extends ca. 0.11 m lower.
