Stratum:   fine to medium pebbles of various shapes
Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the NW. The soil color is dark reddish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is well sorted. It is clayey silt.
Notes:   we excavated this surface after 519 because it was cut by that bothros; 520 was also overlaid by 517. we believe that 517, 520, and 521 and the surface now visible but not yet excavated below 520 are all layers in the same surface, formed through releveling actions like cleaning. All these surfaces have pottery trampled into them.
