Stratum: | not soil but redeposited bedrock
Description: | Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is light greyish brown. The soil compaction is very soft. The soil is well sorted.
Notes: | we needed to remove this deposit before proceeding to the very hard sandy surface that extends over the entire trench (551) because it lay over that surface. It was entirely composed of redeposited bedrock and had no finds. Although within the bounds of the cellar, it must have been deposited in prehistoric times because it is overlaid by a prehistoric context that was not cut by the cellar (541), but ran beneath the cellar.
