Lot:   Lot 2016-047
Stratum:   sherds, bits of broken vrachos, shell, bone, fine to coarse subrounded to angular spherical to tabular pebbles
Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the W. The soil color is dark reddish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   we removed this context after 559, as it was after preparation to excavate 559 that we noticed the relationship between 557 and 560 (see the notes for 559). It did not touch 559, so there was no risk of contamination from our removal of a possibly earlier context first.
Removal of the visible strip revealed that the stones run under the soil layer that is equivalent to 557. we therefore stopped excavation and switched to the soil layer instead. The stones, according to panos, are the same as those at the bottom of bothros 548.
