Area:   Temple E, Southeast
Title:   Packed earth, N. of pit, unpaved courtyard unit 1
Category:   Deposit
Notebook:   1112
Context:   1095
Date:   2017/5/11
Stratum:   Lime/cement (1%), charcoal (1%), pottery (5%), bone (1%)
Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the NE. The soil color is light reddish brown. The soil compaction is compact. The soil is well sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes:   1095, as 1093 and 1094, has an artificial west border, because it was being sectioned in the excavation. The east border is also artificial due to intrusion by modern wall reconstruction, though 1095 seems to go under east wall. North border defined by foudnation trench cut for second phase of north wall construction in the unpaved courtyard of unit 1. South boundary defined by pit cut. Excavation of 1095 exposed a reddish layer, which is the same as the deposit in the bottom 1084, the north wall foundation trench in the west half of the unit, as well as under 1092. See discussion in contexts 1092 and 1093.
