Corinth Basket: Temple E, Southeast, context 234
Collection:   Corinth
Type:   Basket
Name:   Temple E, Southeast, context 234
Area:   Temple E, Southeast
Title:   Cut of pit N of room G, unit 2
Notebook:   1108
Context:   234
Date:   2014/05/08
Description:   The context shape in plan is circular. The top break of the cut is sharp. The sides of the cut are vertical. The break at the base of the cut is not perceptible. The base of the cut is flat. Truncation: top and S side truncated by excavation of context 31.
Notes:   In exploring the area around the pit of context 31 we recognize the cut of a smaller, circular pit within the larger pit previously excavated. The clearest indication of this smaller pit is the stones set at the southern boundary at N1076.90 E106.21 H85.57. This area was overdug by previous excavators. The top of the cut of this pit actually seems to lie at N1077.27 E106.31 H85.87. It was only after the removal of the clayey earth and soft, dark brown soil deposits in this area that this cut was clearly recognized.
