Description: | The soil color is light reddish brown. The soil compaction is compact. The soil is moderately sorted. It is sandy clay. | |
Notes: | Context 647 is a large hard packed fill of reddish brown sandy clay that sits above a large reddish clay level that changes elevation. Three coins, 51 = Louis VIII or IX 1223-1245/50; 53 = St. Martin of Tours (13th cent.), a piece of glass, and a small metal loop, perhaps a shoelace eye let, were found via sieve in this fill. It borders the ashy fill of 652, sharply borders 651 and is adjacent to a robbing trench, single deposit. Coins from sieve: Coin 49, Coin 51, Coin 53; coin 49 not a coin Photo: 521 3/06/2015 (L.
