Context:   975
Date:   2016/05/19
Description:   The context shape in plan is rectrangular. Truncation: The coffin was truncated by fill level 957..
Notes:   This was the second coffin found in cut 968. One of the iron nails discovered in the excavtion of skeleton 970 and coffin 972 suggested that there might be another coffin with a burial next to it, to the south. Coffin 975 and coffin 972 are side by side and essentiallly the same size. Coffin 973 holds a larger child (ske 974). The south side of the coffin is situated directly against wall 929. However, unlike coffin 972 and inhumation 970, there were not disarticulated bones deposited on top of the inhumation. This may suggest that whil the two burials occurred very close to one antoher in time, skeleton 970 may have been buried before skeleton 975.
