Notes:   This is a skeletal layer scattered on top of primary inhumation 981. A juvenile right tibia is on the south side of the cut, outside of th inhumation. Most of the scatter appears to be located around the inhumation (981). A humerus was laid at a 90 degree angle with the right tibia across the inhumation. Another humerus (left?) is on the north side of the burial along the side of the cut. A skull fragment was wound at the distal end of the R tibia. A radius was partly neslted in it. A L tibia was under the skull fragment. Under and to the north of the right tibia, there are two juvenile femora. The femora are side by side and the same length and so likely belong to the same individual. Due to their position and orientaion to the tibia, I think the four bones are associated. However, one of the femora (the left) was oriented in the opposite direction as the other. Most of the bone scatter appears to be located on the south side of the burial.
Having taken inhumation 981 out of the grave, it became clear that the cranium to the west was not associated with an articulated burial, but belonged with the bone scatter around the inhumation. A left scapula was found in situ under 981 likely from when the skeleton associated with the cranium was still articulated. As the cranium was obviously intruded upon by inhumation 981, it may be safe to assume that it represents the cranium of the original inhumation. The bones scattered around, on top, and under skeleton 981 likely belong to the original inhumation as well.
