Description:   Jug with broad strap handle (a), slightly convex body (b-d).
Decoration:   Brownish-green glaze all over. Petals applied in high relief on exterior (a-c). Local imitation of Byzantine petal ware.
Material:   Coarse tan (?) clay fired gray throughout, with few small to large rounded spherical and tabular white and gray inclusions, and frequent small rounded spherical voids.
Munsell Color:   10 YR 6/2 (light brownish gray)
Condition:   Fragment. Two joining frgts., preserving one handle.
Period:   Middle Byzantine (802-1058 AD)
