Description:   Dish with vertical ring foot, flat undersurface. Shallow, widely flaring, convex body with upturned, tapered lip. Shallow bulge at centre.
Decoration:   Incised-Sgraffito, Intermediate Style, as Corinth XI, cat. no1491, fig.127. White slip all over. Interior: sgraffito bird at centre, with incised body, facing right. Incised floral spikes in field. Band of degenerate sgraffito Kufic just below lip. Yellow glaze inside to over lip outside. Graffito scratched on exterior body represents letter XM (roman numbers for 990?).
Material:   Phyllite A1 (no fresh break)
Munsell Color:   2.5 YR 5/6 (red)
Condition:   Complete or intact. Six joining frgts., preserving almost complete foot, almost all body and two-third of lip.
