Description:   Pontic sigillata plate Atlante II form 1 with ring foot, concave floor, slightly concave vertical rim with angular moldings at top and bottom. Similar to C-1936-1617, C-1964-445 (Slane 1990, Corinth 18.2, cat. 101).
Decoration:   Red glaze (2.5YR 5/8) slip on on interior and exterior of rim; slip on exterior floor mottled and uneven. Angular moldings on top and bottom of rim. Two grooves on underside exterior where floor meets rim, groove below lip on exterior. Two shallow grooves where rim meets floor on interior. Slip unevenly fired due to stacking.
Material:   Hard fine light red fabric with tiny flecks of mica.
Munsell Color:   2.5YR 6/8 (light red)
Condition:   Complete profile. Six joining frgts., preserving complete profile, less than 1/4 rim. Interior slip worn.
Period:   1 st c. A.C.
Chronology:   late 1st c. CE, based on comparanda in Corinth 18.2
