Description: | Bowl with flaring ring foot, flat resting surface, slightly concave undersurface. Deep echinoid body curving up and inward to tapering lip. | |
Decoration: | White slip thickly applied to interior and overlapping lip; thin wash on exterior. Scratched on floor: central medallion with interlace pattern of quatrefoil with long pointed petals, behind which linked arcs, imbricate background. Circumference groove surrounding medallion, over which ring of brown dashes; on upper body to lip broad spiral band painted in brown. Clear glaze over interior and overlapping lip on exterior. | |
