Description:   Body fragment of large, closed vessel. Interior unglazed.
Decoration:   Fragment preserves part of left side of one panel and part of black body. At left side of panel, parts of four letters (in reddish dilute glaze) from kionedon inscription.
Writing:   dipinto. Dipinto in brown glaze along right edge, reading top to bottom, Greek NATH. Part of the Panathenaic prize inscription, "TON ATHENATHEN ATHLON." The forms of the letters can be compared to those on the reverse left of C 1946 51.
Material:   Fine reddish yellow clay.
Munsell Color:   5YR 6/6 (reddish yellow)
Condition:   Fragment. Single frgt., broken all around. Glaze peeling.
