Description:   Bowl with disc foot and broad convex hemispherical (?) body, vertical rim and everted lip (see C 1937 1316B).
Decoration:   Brown glaze all over; light slip. Interior with checkerboard outline with various fillers (dots, squares, spirals). Similar to CP-1080 (Morgan 1942, Corinth 11, cat. 717).
Material:   Reddish-brown clay, fired gray at surface, with few small subrounded tabular white, red and gray inclusions. Rare angular platy voids.
Munsell Color:   2.5 YR 5/4 (reddish brown)
Condition:   Fragment. Single frgt., preserving 3/5 of foot and floor, and lower body.
Period:   Late Byzantine (1059-1210 AD)
Chronology:   11th century; based on comparanda.
