Description:   Plate with low vertical ring foot, narrow rounded resting surface, flat undersurface. Ca. horizontal body, vertical rim H00.027, tapered lip.
Decoration:   White slip, originally over all. On interior, large medallion on floor, lion's head in profile to lt., with stipples on head, a hatched "collar"; mouth open, small circular eye. Surrounded by degenerate floral spikes (CHM: green spirals, no longer preserved) outer border of degenerate rinceau. Pale yellow to clear glaze on interior and overlapping lip.
Material:   Moderately fine tan to light red clay with scattered white inlcuions, voids.
Munsell Color:   5YR 5/6
Condition:   Complete profile. Three joining frgts., complete profile. Complete foot except for chip, nearly complete foot, ca. 1/8 rim. Glaze worn.
