Description:   Articulated kantharos with flaring ring base. Flat resting surface. Concave underside with large nipple in center. Exterior of foot has profile wheel grooved in two degrees. Biconical body with angular carination set at approx. two-thirds the height of the body. Lower walls convex. Upper walls slightly convex. Lip outturned, rounded and rolled outwards. Two vertical strap spur handles with rectangular strap thumbrests attaching just below lip and at mid upper body.
Decoration:   Black glaze over all. One miltos covered scraped groove in middle of handle zone and one miltos covered scraped groove just below lip both interrupted by handles. Side A: graffito. Side B: necklace with string and pendants in added paint.
Writing:   graffito. Greek, side A in middle of handle zone.
ACFALEIAC
Material:   Fine very pale brown clay with few small black inclusions, rare large red inclusions, and rare large to extra large black inclusions.
Munsell Color:   10YR 8/3 very pale brown
Condition:   Complete profile. Numerous frgts., preserving all of foot except one large chip, two-thirds of body, three-fifths of lip, one handle, one thumbrest. Surface has black glaze mostly worn. Fingerprints on thumbrest. RIP. Traces of miltos in grooves. Fugitive added paint.
