Description:   Cyma kantharos with stem foot, flat resting surface and conical undersurface, with molded exterior in two degrees; low lower with straight sloping profile ending in beveled edge, upper a medium thin ring with a square profile articulated from lower by an angle. High conical stem connected to foot by a curve. Wide body with convex lower body and concave upper body, flaring out widely to an everted, tapered lip. Vertical strap handle with rectangular thumb rest attaching to just below lip and upper body.
Decoration:   West Slope style with vertical reeding in lower body, except under handles inscribed with an X. Two sets of horizontal groove bands, lower a double band bordering the top of reeding near maximum at level of lower handle attachment, upper a step below upper handle attachment. Inscribed running ivy between grooves. Black glaze all over, except for resting surface, bottom of undersurface and stem painted with red paint.
Material:   Fine pink clay with rare fine black and sparkling inclusions. Rare small voids.

Condition:   Complete profile. Numerous joining frgts., preserving foot, stem, most of body, 3/4 lip, 1 handle. Black glaze and red paint worn.
