Description:   Cyma kantharos with stem foot, flat resting surface and conical undersurface, with molded exterior in two degrees; high, narrow and almost vertical lower with a beveled edge, articulated from high, wide beveled upper step by a thick, wide groove. Conical stem articulated from foot by an angle. Wide body with very large and convex lower and upper concave high in body near top, flaring out to an everted tapered lip. Two vertical strap handles with rectangular thumb rest attaching to just below lip and upper body.
Decoration:   West Slope style with two horizontal grooved bands, one at lower handle attachment level and another a step below upper handle attachment level. Inscribed running ivy without leaves between bands. Black glaze all over.
Material:   Fine yellow clay with rare small to medium spherical sub-rounded mudstone, rare fine black, sparkling and white. Rare fine voids.

Condition:   Complete profile. Numerous joining frgts., preserving foot, stem, 1/2 body, 2/3 lip, both handles. Bl. Gl. Worn in parts.
