Description: | Cyma kantharos with wide body, lower almost globular and upper straight and almost vertical in profile, narrowing to a small everted tapered lip. Two vertical strap handles with rectangular thumb rest attaching to just below lip and upper body. | |
Decoration: | West Slope style with vertical reeding in lower body except for an X below each handle. A horizontal groove band above level of lower handle attachment and another just below lip. Black glaze all over. Trace of red paint in top groove. | |
Material: | Fine very pale brown clay with few fine black, rare fine red and sparkling inclusions. Rare fine voids. | |
