Description:   Plump, ovoid body on low, broad ring foot which is hardly set off from body on exterior. Wide neck; trefoil mouth. Strap handle from shoulder. Handle probably rose slightly above lip.
Decoration:   Lower third of body solid black except for reserved zone with three horizontal black bands. Upper body and neck decorated with closely spaced black bands. At lower handle attachment bands of shoulder zone interrupted by 7 vertical bands on each side; level with bottom of these, a wide, reserved horizontal band is decorated with chevron pattern. Wide reserved band on center of neck is marked by horizontal zig-zag. Horizontal stripes on spine of handle. Lip black. No glaze, not even drips, on interior.
Material:   Extremely fine yellowish-buff clay, slightly pink at core; hard fabric but not brittle. Decoration in black to brownish-black glaze.
Condition:   Complete profile. Top of handle, part of lip and body missing; RIP.
Dimensions Preserved:   H. 0.295 (handle probably rose slightly above lip); max. d. 0.20.
Period:   Late Geometric (750-720)
Chronology:   Late Geometric. Probably transitional to Early Protocorinthian, ca. 720-700 BC.
