Description:   Cooking fabric flanged casserole (Casserole II by Edwards) with round bottom, convex body sharply articulated from flaring rim with square lip projecting beyong edge of rim and with pronouned ridge running along its interior edge, flange for lid, horizontal loop handles attached at carination between body and rim, attached on sides of rim and rising diagonally above it. As C 1946 135 (Corinth VII.3, p. 126, no. 679, pls. 29, 62).
Material:   Coarse yellowish red clay fired dark gray at core with few fine-small, rare medium-large spherical-tabular angular black, few small-large spherical sub-rounded white, rare medium-large spherical rounded quartz, fine sparkling inclusions. Rare large voids.
Munsell Color:   Surface: 5YR 5/8 (yellowish red), Core: 5YR 4/1 (dark gray)
Condition:   Complete profile. Numerous joining fragments preserving 3/4 bottom, 3/4 body, 3/4rim, both handles. Traces of burning on exterior. Malformed, pushed in bottom.
