Description: | Blisterware aryballos with flat base, low ovoid body continues to narrow neck tapering upwards, flaring rim with rounded lip; oval handle attached at juncture of body and shoulder and at rim. Four rows of round bumps concentrically around body from base to shoulder. Similar in surface finish to C-47-297 (Corinth VII.3, p. 148, no. 774, pl. 64), similar in profile to C-65-537 (Corinth XVIII.1, p. 94, no. 97, pl. 13, p. 54, fig. 17). | |
Decoration: | Gray-black glaze all over exterior and also on interior of neck. Double-dipping line visible. | |
Material: | Coarse dark gray clay with dark brown core with common large to very large lime, few large to very large grog, and few medium black inclusions. | |
