Description:   Amphora with globular body with rounded shoulder, cylindrical neck flaring out slightly to vertical rim with bevelled in lip, strainer mouth at level of junction of neck to body, vertical handles, oval in section, attached at shoulder and top of neck where ridge articulates junction of neck with rim and ahdle attachment. Shape similar to C-1992-82, or C-1960-35 (MacKay, Hesperia 1967, no. 61).
Decoration:   Double groove at base of shoulder, reddish brown matt-painted ovals (fish?), horizontally oriented, enclosing wavy band, one on each side between handles on shoulder, chain of three sets of concentric semicircles hanging from lip; three horizontal strokes on top of handle. Cf. C-1959-163.
Material:   Coarse reddish yellow clay, fired pale brown at core, with common large to very large white lime and mudstone inclusions.
Munsell Color:   Surface: 5YR 6/6 (reddish yellow), Core: 10YR 6/3 (pale brown)
Condition:   Fragment. Single frgt., preserving shoulder, neck, lip, one handle. Surface with white lime accretions.
