Description:   Late Neolithic ritual vessel leg, as Phelps 2006 (The Neolithic Pottery Sequence in Southern Greece), p. 86-7. Leg tapers towards foot. Similar to CP-2895 and CP-2905. Partly hollow towards top, likely result of finger pinching; similar to CP-2891. Voids in fabric likely result of organic temper; many appear to be filled with calcium carbonate.
Decoration:   Black-burnished. Two bands of incised crosshatching: lower band extends about 2/3 around foot. For incised cross-hatching motif, see Phelps 2006, Fig. 61.18.
Material:   Fairly fine reddish yellow clay with rare small white spherical angular, rare small black spherical angular inclusions and frequent spherical to tubular voids.
Munsell Color:   Surface: 10YR 4/1 (dark gray); Core: 7.5YR 8/6 (reddish yellow)
Condition:   Fragment. Two joining frgts., preserving most of leg; foot missing. Granular breaks at both ends; light gray discoloration all over clay at breaks. Surface mostly smooth; patches of white accretions and wear on burnishing.
