Description:   Large body sherd of convex side of a bell krater, preserving area near the handle juncture.
Decoration:   Red-figure depiction of a dancing satyr, facing right, with a calyx krater and hand of another figure to the left. At right, 3 leaves of palmette under the handle and reserve band around the edge of handle juncture, like on C-37-237 (Corinth 7, part 4, 1977, p. 37-38). Satyr identified by tail; holding unidentified object in left hand; torso twisted, right leg thrust forward, standing over ornament. Only left hand and wrist preserved of figure at left; possibly holding tymphanum or vessel and an unidentified white objec or white ribbons. Red slip over allreserved portions; dilute glaze for navel line and tail of satyr, object held by satyr, rim and handle zone of portrayed krater, and interior of object held by figure at left; added white for bracelets and unknown object falling from hand at left. Contour lines visible around figures and objects. Attributed to the Pattern Painter (also see C-37-238).
