Description:   Plate with straight flaring profile, flat thickened lip projecting inside and out. Similar to CP-1468.
Decoration:   Thin white wash on exterior. On interior, head of large bird to lt., in field dotted spray and solid curved motive; on lip, stripe. Bright green glaze on interior.
Material:   Moderately fine clay fired grayish tan, to pink, with fine and coarse white inclusions, 1 gray, tiny voids.
Munsell Color:   7.5YR 6/4 (light brown)
Condition:   Fragment. Three joining frgts., preserving about 1/8 rim, small part lip.
Period:   Late Byzantine (1059-1210 AD)
