Description: | Late Neolithic four-legged vessel. Leg evenly ellipsoidal in section and relatively slender. Deep concavity at top inside. Small piece of body at rear still attached to leg. | |
Decoration: | Front: burnish, mottled creamy-buff, orange and gray. Rear fire-darkened to smokey blackish-gray. Inner body fire darkened and rough-smoothed. Crusted red paint at rer of leg and on under body, as well as white wash at rear of leg and on inner body and leg depression. Outside front: decorated with incised pattern of broad, counterhatched zigzag bands. | |
Material: | Semi-coarse fabric. Frequent dark and light small, medium, and large rounded angular inclusions. Fired dark smokey and ornagey gray at core. Bright orange surface layers. Uneven firing. | |
Condition: | Fragment. Single frgt., preserving about half leg; broken all around at top and bottom. Reburnt? | |
