Description:   Lateral sima with base moulding (missing), vertical inset panel crowned by narrow quarter round, heavier ovolo. At rt. joint anathyrosis on end of front, overlapping flange 00.082 m. long; at lt. side of spout. Panel decorated with acanthus scroll in very high relief; rising from acanthus leaf at bottom lt., fluted stalk curving out to rt. with cross-b and from which acanthus leaf spreads with bud just below crowning mouldings; 2 fluted tendrils turn out and up from stalk, poss. bud hanging out from bottom acanthus leaf.
Decoration:   Surface slipped with white (?) on bottom of acanthus leaf, green stalk and tendrils, purple on buds, background black. Quarter round purple, ovolo defaced. Possible traces of paint on top surface.
Material:   Coarse red clay, fired to light tan in back with dense admixture of fine red inclusions.
Munsell Color:   5YR 5/8 between 7.5YR 6/6 and 10YR 6/6 to 10YR 7/4
Condition:   Fragment. Single frgt., preserving panel and crowning moulding to top; broken below at juncture to tile and base moulding, most of face of crown. Paint flaked.
