Description: | Fragment from heavy quarter-round crowning moulding of early archaic sima. Complete curve not preserved. Exterior slipped, fired yellow, on which decoration of upright lotus-palmette chain. Preserved rt. to lt., part of black lotus leaf, parts of 4 petals of palmette, with full rounded tips, painted alternating purple and black. Interior finished, moulding hollow. | |
Material: | Corinthian yellow-buff clay with heavy admixture of fine gray inclusions. Fine surface slip. Maroon, black paint. | |
