Description:   Lateral sima attached to flat pan tile, with fascia H00.058, projection 00.006, at bottom, vertical face with relief decoration H00.132: pair of spiralsflanking spout, both curling counter clockwise, andseparated by 3-petal buds - 1 upright, 2nd pendant.Fillet and crowning ovolo H00.038, projection 00.029,decorated in relief with egg-dart, crowning fascia H00.009; top surface flat, W00.071. Side joint smooth, with set back 00.007 m. for tile proper. Projecting lip on side of tile rises up to upper back of sima. At left break edge of lion-head spout with gouges around mane locks.
Decoration:   Soffit plain. On base fascia: running spirals to rt.in dilute red-brown framed below, above and to rt. by broad stripe. Red-brown paint on buds, central eyes, stripe down rt. edge of plaque, and around perimeter of spout. Off-white slip on reserved relief and background of fascia.
Material:   Coarse clay fired salmon at core, buff at surface, with numerous fine to coarser red angular inclusions.
Munsell Color:   Surface: slightly yellower than 10YR 8/3 Core: between 5YR 7/4 and 7.5YR 7/4
Condition:   Missing parts. Sept. 1992: 3 joining frgts., preserving right half of block with small part of pan; complete profile of sima face, start of spout at left; missing most of lower half of sima face, lower right corner.
