Description:   Lateral sima with flat panel decorated in relief, to rt. of which lionhead spout projecting in high relief. On panel tendril consisting of double coils, tightly wrapped. Lion mane consists of single row of long locks, each with 2 deep grooves. Low brow with furrowed brow ridge, eyebrow and upper lid incised with hatching, raised eyeball with deep hole for iris.
Decoration:   Traces of black paint or glase on tendril. Cf. FS-XXXX-65 for type.
Material:   Hard-fired, moderately coarse clay fired pink at core, to yellow at surface with scattered fine to coarser inclusions, some voids. Surface crackled from overfiring ?
Munsell Color:   2.5Y 6/4 (surface)
Condition:   Fragment. Single frgt., preserving proper right half of head, bit of relief panel. Glaze worn.
