Description:   Thick large slab, smoothly worked on front, roughly picked on back; left and top edges worked finely with claw chisel, with slightly smoothed band at upper edge; on back of I-1899 circular depression, perhaps pivot hole from later use. One join made (by Kent) against left joint.
Writing:   inscribed. Latin, parts of 6 lines; letter H: l.1 00.12, l.2-3 00.086; l.4 0.082, l.5 0.074; interlinear spaces: ll.l-1-2,2-3 00.03, 3-4 00.026, 4-5 00.045, 5-6 00.045. Text: ]IBVS AV[]NISANA...[ ]N .S....IOI[ ]ONIARISTOCR[ ]..TERAQV[ ].IV.[
Material:   Fine-crystalled white marble with veins running along vertical axis, laminating fractures.
Condition:   Fragment. Originally, two joining frgts. (A-B) preserving lt. edge, broken other sides; joins: 6 frgts. in all, giving top and lt. edges, front and back.
