Title:   TERRACOTTA MOLD OF A RECLINING FIGURE

Description:   Mould for a reclining, draped, male figure. Upper body supported by bent left arm, which rests on a low, folded cushion, left hand holding a round fruit; Right hand rests on raised right knee. Hair in long ribbed locks (possible polos above, though this may be simply the termination of the mould, to be removed during production). Facial features somehwat indistinct, but nose very pointed. Chest prominent. Drapery coveres left arm and lower body to feet, folds indstinct. Low, plain couch. Handmade from model.
Decoration:   Undecorated.
Material:   Fine pink clay with rare medium white inclusions and rare round voids
Munsell Color:   7.5YR 8/4 (pink)
Condition:   Missing parts. Complete except for small missing fragment at lower end of couch
Manufacture:   F06 M HM
Period:   4th c. B.C.
