Title:   FIVE MINIATURE LAMPS ON BASE

Description:   Five miniature lamps on a long, thin, flat base, rounded at ends; roughly cut with some adhering bits of clay and concave resting surface; lamps set close together in diagonal position. Individual lamps have flat bases, globular bodies, tapered lips, and broad nozzels, two of which are mishapen. Lamp shape similar to KL 163 (Stillwell 1952, Corinth 15.2, cat. 95), also from the Court of the Terracotta Factory.
Decoration:   String marks visible on the overhanging base of one lamp, parallel tool marks or textile impressions on base.
Material:   Fine, pale yellow clay with few small inclusions and rare medium voids
Munsell Color:   2.5Y 8/3 (pale yellow)
Condition:   Missing parts. Five joining frgts preserving 80% of base, four complete lamps, and one half lamp; missing base frgts and one lamp nozzel and part of wall restored in plaster.
