Description:   Lamp with low disk foot, deep vertical body curving without break into slightly flaring rim; sunken disk with compound profile: deep channel surrounding convex band, in turn surrounding recessed lip, small fill hole. Small air hole at each of 4 cardinal points, in deep channel. Start of nozzle with rounded upper surface. Vertical strap handle attached just above foot to rim. See Howland type 35 variant, no. 485 for similar but not identical type (1st BC-1st AC); Broneer XIV.
Decoration:   Black glaze over all.
Material:   Fine sandy orange clay with mica, 2% fine lime inclusions.
Munsell Color:   7.5YR 5.5/6
Condition:   Complete profile. Single frgt., preserving complete lamp except for most of nozzle and handle, attachments for which preserved; chip in bottom; 1/2 of lip around fill hole missing; glaze worn away.
