Description:   Lamp with rounded bottom, center of which slightly depressed around central socket. Bottom curves into echinoid body, broad horizontal rim, not overhanging exterior, surface of which slightly concave, forming ridge around large fill hole. Large blunt-tipped nozzle, tilted up above surface of rim, with large wick hole that slightly impinges on rim. For type, Howland N143, type 19 var.
Decoration:   Exterior plain except for three rings on rim, outer and innermost black, middle one dilute brown-black, Black glaze on floor and underside of rim, and on nozzle.
Material:   Fine light red clay with 2% or less fine white inclusions, some chaff-like voids.
Munsell Color:   Between 7.5YR 6/6 and 5YR 6/6
Condition:   Complete profile. Fur joining frgts., preserving complete profile; complete except for 3/4 bottom, half of socket, small part of body.
