Description:   Lamp with slightly concave bottom, offset by circumference groove, vertical sides. broad flat rim with 2 grooves surrounding large concave disk with 6 small off-center fill holes in a circle; air hole with narrow channel leading to wick hole. Pierced vertical lug handle.
Decoration:   Rim: at 3:00 and 9:00 3 bars flanked by dotted circles; dotted circle to either side of handle, one with 2 grooves to either side of wick hole, circle to either side of air hole. disk: Constantinian monogram, chi-rho with loop to rt., dots in ends of all arms. Handle: 2 grooves to base.
Writing:   inscribed. Inscribed on bottom, in mould: XIO/NHS : Chiones with small dotted O and lunate sigma
Material:   Hard-fired reddish to grayish tan, with numerous tiny sparkling inclusions, fewer white, voids.
Munsell Color:   10YR 6/3 to 7.5YR 6/4
Condition:   Complete profile. Intact except for nozzle; burning around nozzle base.
