Description:   Thapsos class skyphos with convex upper body curving sharply in to inward-sloping vertical rim with rounded lip. For general form and decoration, cf. Ithaca R1 (GGP, pl. 20:c) and Thapsos 45825 (Pelagatti 1982, pl. 18, fig 2, pl. 19, fig. 2). The riim profile is clsely paralleled by a Thapsos Class skyphos ferom the area of the Ionic Temple at Syracuse (Pelagatti 1982, no. 4, pl. 26).
Decoration:   Outside of rim and upper body decorated with five narrow horiztonal glazed bands. Single horizontal reserved band at top inside of rim. Rest of interior solidly glazed.
Material:   Greenish buff clay with few very small gray inclusions, minute sparkling inclusions.
Munsell Color:   Clay: 2.5Y 8/2; Glaze 5YR 3/4 (brown)
Condition:   Fragment. Single frgt., preserving part of rim and upper body.
Period:   Protocorinthian (720-630)
