Description: | Terracotta hollow mouldmade seated female with weight on lt hand, body tilted to rt, wearing chiton with round neck at back, with folds radiating from each shoulder across breasts and back, belted straight across back and chest below breasts with double knot with long trailing ties, long soft folds from below belt follow curve of hips, hollow of belly, and across lt thigh turned to rt. Himation drapes in wide band from lt side, covering lt arm, over lt shoulder, falling diagonally across back,and pooling underneath rt elbow on couch. Upper line of couch? Visible in back. Drapery similar to MF-13884 (Corinth XVIII.4 p.150, 219 no. H145 pl. 37). | |
