Description:   Pendant consisting of a thin bronze oval with suspension loop welded at top, decoration and stamped letters on both sides.
Decoration:   Decoration impressed in relief. On side A: a haloed figure (Mater Teresia) facing left with head slightly upturned, in ecclesiastical garb (veil, coif, guimpe), praying with hands together at chest. On side B: very similar to MF-4774-A except with stamped letters inside sun (top, center) and at bottom. At top, oval sun with curving rays and cross, letters, and three-pronged design inside. At left and right of sun, two small, winged, haloed figures facing center, knees bent and arms reaching toward sun. Beneath sun, five haloed figures of saints, of which four outer figures in long robes: figure at far left (possibly female?) slightly shorter than other figures and facing right, arms bent and toward center and with small bag(?) behind near back; figure left-center facing right, arms bent toward center and holding square object; center figure facing left with long staff angled left, one arm raised to support staff above shoulder and the other holding staff near hip, with short robe or clothing ending above knees; figure right-center facing left, arms bent and clasped at chest, with cloak over long robes; figure at far right facing left, proper left arm lowered and slightly away from body. According to P. Attwood of the British Museum and C. Williams, saints likely to be St. Philip Neri, St. Ignatius Loyola, St. Isidore, St. Francis Xavier, and St. Theresa of Avila; they were canonized on 12 March, 1622.
Writing:   stamp. Latin on both sides. Side A: [left] SMATER [right] TERESIA. Side B: [top, inside sun] D[illegible]S; [first line] S T S IG S FR ST; [second line] S ISIDOR.
Material:   Bronze
Condition:   Complete profile. Complete except for very small part of back of suspension loop at top of pendant. Good condition, some areas of slight surface corrosion.
