Decoration:   In intaglio: Artemis as huntress, in tunic and chlamys, facing left (in cast) with bow in her right hand; left drawn back as If she had just released an arrow. On head, peaked hat with brim. Subject and pose common on gems of Roman period. Cf. e.g. Fossing, Catalogue of the Thorvaldsen Collection, no. 641.
