Description: | Rectangular portable altar in bench form. Short sides project up above top by ca. 0.025m. and are ca. 0.045m. thick. Front face is plain, rough finished, with a narrow hole cut through to back in lower right corner. Back is hollowed out with a flat chisel. Top is ca. 0.05m. thick. Back edge of top has a roughly cut semi-circular notch cut out ca. 0.08m. wide. On top are letters roughly incised, ca. 0.025m. high. Cf. Corinth.XV.i. p.79 ff., no. XVIII for later parallel. | |
