Description:   Large figurine, upper half of which solid. Wears a low polos. Hair arranged in curls over forehead, in braids decorated with incised chevrons, to shoulder. Solid mass of hair at back is tied with a fillet. Face oval with solid almond-shaped eyes, straight shart nose, tight "archaic" smile, high prominent cheek bones. Around neck plastic necklace with pomegranate pendant, lower beaded necklace which hangs down almost to the waist. Shoulders slightly modelled, arms at sides with forearm extended forward. Narrow belted waist reserved. "Vent holes": 4 in front, 9 in back, 2 on top of head. Face mouldmade, remainder probably built by hand. Cf Necrocorinthis, p.235 no 880, 882, ca. 590-580 B.C. Cf. Decoration:   Polos with inscribed diamond pattern, painted red front and back. Over chest the lines of the braids are continued in black paint. Hair painted black. Eyes outlined in brown with black circle for pupil. Brows, mouth painted black.
Material:   Buff Corinthian clay, with lime inclusions, fired pink at core, finer outer clay. Red, black paint.
Condition:   Fragment. Single fragment, from top to waist. Chip in polos, both arms missing below shoulders.
