Description: | Bronze spoon, made of a single piece of bronze, with a small concave bowl, flat handle preserved to a length of 0.055; handle in two parts, short, thin section joins bowl to wider section, sides of handle concave flare outward at two points. Only slightly similar objects in collection are MF 1130, MF 13 and MF 70 (Corinth XII, pp. 198-199, nos. 1508, 1509 and 1510, pl. 90), but similarity moslty lies in the fact that they all are bronze spoons. | |
Decoration: | Groove separates bowl from handle, crescent moon shaped depression on handle just above the groove; three grooves on shaft, beginning 0.013 from the bowl, mark the first point where sides of handle flare out; v-shaped protrusions mark second point where sides of handle flare out. | |
